Beginner Guide
New to Block Tales? This guide covers combat basics, card synergies, chapter progression, and everything you need to survive Demo 5.
Quick Tip: Start by collecting active codes on the Codes page — free BUX gives you early game flexibility. Then focus on building an Ice + Lightning deck for the Chapter 5 boss gauntlet.
Table of Contents
Combat Basics
- Turn-based combat: you play cards, enemy attacks, repeat until one side is down
- BP (Battle Points): spend to play cards, manage carefully — going to 0 BP leaves you defenseless
- Parry: timing your attacks after enemy attacks can counter for bonus damage
- Card Elements: Ice, Fire, Lightning, Physical, Order, Light, Neutral — match elements to enemy weaknesses
Focus on cards from one element early on. Building a mixed-element deck looks versatile but actually weakens your synergy bonuses in boss fights.
First Steps in Demo 5
- Redeem all active codes first — Demo 5 added OVERHAULSOON and WhiteNoob as of April 2026
- Complete Tutorial Terry to unlock the full card system
- Choose your race carefully: Shedletsky and Builderman are S-tier for different reasons
- Join the Korbloxian Empire questline early — it leads to the Demo 5 chapter 5 content
The Shield Sphere item (purchasable for 90 TIX from Valor in Trinity Outskirts) is essential for the Mutant boss fight in Chapter 5. Buy it before attempting Mutant.
